Mattoso (Senior Scientist at Brazilian Corporation for Research in Agriculture – Embrapa ) Materials Engineer with Master and PhD degrees in Materials Science and Engineering (UFSCar). He was a visiting scientist at the University of Montpellier, Univ. Grenoble (France) and Univ. of Pennsylvania and Agricultutal Research Center/USDA/CA (USA). He was the head of the Research and Development and Center Director at Embrapa (Brazilian Corporation for Research in Agriculture) in São Carlos (São Paulo State) Brazil, where he is currently he is a Senior Scientist. He has published 400 papers in peer reviewed Journals with more than 25,000 citations, H Factor of 82 (google scholar) and has 12 patents. He has supervised 30 master students, 33 PhD students, and 40 pos-docs. His research interest is the development of new polymeric materials, sensors and nanocomposites from renewable sources. Dr. Pedro Fardim (Professor in Chemical Engineering for Health Care at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Leuven - Belgium ) committed to create sustainable technologies to support our planet and human health. She is currently full professor (MS6) and director (2021-2025), at the Institute of Physics, "Gleb Wataghin", University of Campinas. A former member of the scientific board of Brazilian Materials Research Society (2016-2018), she currently serves as its President (2020-2024). She is executive editor of the journal ACS Applied Nano Materials and member of the editorial advisory board of the journal Accounts of Materials Research. Her research projects explore the areas of Materials Science and Biological Physics, with focus on the study of advanced semiconductor nanomaterials, from synthesis to biosensor fabrication, as well as applications of optical, electron and scanning probe microscopy to basic investigations on biomaterials and biological systems
